Content Is Still The King

Content Is Still The King Of SEO

I know you have heard this so many times that your head is about to explode.

But, just as it has always been, content is still the king.

And, with the recent Google updates, creating value for you readers is now more important than ever.

That being said, it still amazes me when I peruse the web on my daily quest for knowledge, that I am constantly confronted with business blogs that still do not seem to understand that simple rule; content is still the king.

Maybe they are so focused on the aesthetics of their website they overlook this necessity or they have a blog just to have a blog.

Either way, what they don’t realize is that most readers are not looking for the next award winning web design they are searching for information.

Great content provides useful information that solves problems, great content equal’s visitors, and continually generating great content equals return visitors and subscribers.

So, let us revisit one of the most important factors of your website: content.

Valuable Content Doesn’t Come Easy

One reason many businesses are reluctant to start a blog is that their business model states that “if we are going to do something let’s do it right” (good model).

One of the most important things that a blog has to have is great content. And, creating great content is not easy.

It takes time and money to get it right.

But, when done right, valuable content attracts readers and establishes you as an authority in your field. Also, it presents a level of trust that could lead to loyal followers.

One big mistake a lot of business bloggers make, is turning their blog post into one big commercial. You need to emphasize the benefits of your service and how it can solve your reader’s problem.

Focus on the readers needs and take note on how they use your site to gather information and it will pay off.

Attract Visitors and Improved SEO

There are rewards for having great content and one of the most valuable benefits is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and page ranking.

Google demands quality content. The recent updates to their search algorithms have essentially weeded out the low quality spammy sites. This is your chance to rise above the quagmire.

If the content is accurate, clearly written and easy to access, the reader is more likely to recommend it and share it on social media sites. This is your digital word of mouth.

As a bonus, Google is more likely to index the article.

Win, win.

Before you start writing, do some keyword research using the free tools provide by search engines such as Google and Bing. When creating your masterpiece be sure to implement those keywords within the text of your post.

Be careful not to over keyword, AKA, “keyword stuffing.” Keyword stuffing is considered unethical and most search engines frown on the practice, especially Google.

A good rule of thumb is that you should be creating content for your visitors first and search engines second.

Practice makes perfect better

It is true with most things in life that the more you do something the better you will get.

This also stands true with writing content for your website. Remember, to write naturally and not overwhelm the visitor with industry jargon.

Don’t be afraid to be less formal and add humor and personality to your article.

Finally, remember when writing articles to keep the visitor in mind and provide them with the best possible experience.
